Bits and Bytes is all about Binary; Binary is a computer language that computer use. You can decode pictures, sound waves and even numbers. We learned how data and information is stored in computers and what the difference is between bits, bytes, megabytes and gigabytes.
A binary digit can only be a 0 or 1. All data in computers is stored, processed and transmitted in 8-bit binary.
5 - bit binary
16 8 4 2 1
0 1 0 0 1 = ??
If there is a 1, then it is 1 lots of the number above. So the example above has an answer of 8+1 = 9 It is called
5-bit binary because there are 5 bits to it.
8 - bit binary
8-bit binary is similar except there is now 8 bits to it:
128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1
1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 => 255

ASCII
ASCII is a table that changes binary answers into letters and make a certain word when you combine the many answers together.
ASCII is a table that changes binary answers into letters and make a certain word when you combine the many answers together.
For Example:
8-bit binary: 01001000 -H
01001001 - I
8-bit binary: 01001000 -H
01001001 - I
Pictures in Binary
0011100 (Every 1 = black square 0 = white square)
0100010
1010101
1001001
1010101
0100010
0011110
Sound waves can be decoded in a similar way. We just need a graph with numbers and then the answers can be given as coordinates.
